High Energy Physics Annual Symposium Held in CCNU
On April 19, 2014, “The 9th National High Energy Physics Representative Assembly and Annual Symposium of Chinese Physical Society” opened in Science Hall of CCNU. The conference, sponsored by Society of High Energy Physics under Chinese Physical Society and hosted by CCNU, was attended by over 400 experts on High Energy Physics (HEP) from all over the country. Attendees exchanged ideas on the latest HEP research results and progress at home and abroad.
Prof. Wang Enke, Vice President of CCNU, introduced the HEP achievements made in CCNU and pointed out that CCNU was gradually growing into an important HEP research center. He believed that this symposium would enhance CCN U’s reputation in domestic physical science research.
Academician Zhao Guangda, Chairman of the 8th Council of High Energy Physics Society, delivered a detailed report of China’s achievements in HEP experimental and theoretical research in recent years. He maintained that with an increasingly stronger research team, HEP research in China had entered a stage of development and prosperity.
Durin g the 4-day annual meeting, experts and delegates held seminars concerning HEP research frontiers and future development in China. The 9th Council, executive members of the Council and leading organs of Society of High Energy Physics were also elected in the symposium.
