CCNU Volunteers and Carleton Students Join in Public Service Activities
On May 6th, 22 students from the Confucius Institute at Carleton University, Canada’s capital university, and 20 volunteers from CCNU went to Malong Middle School in Huanggang of Hubei Province to carry out public service activities, a joint initiative of Confucius Institute Affairs Office, the Youth League Committee and the Student Union of CCNU.
Mr. John Nelson from the International Student Services Office of Carleton University and Mr. Zhou Chengxiong, Headmaster of Malong Middle School, addressed the students and expressed their wishes. Carleton students and CCNU volunteers then joined those middle school students and conducted various cultural activities to introduce to each other traditional Canadian and Chinese culture. Deep friendship has been established between CCNU volunteers, Carleton students and Malong middle school students through the public service activities.
The Confucius Institute at Carleton University was set up by CCNU and Carleton University in 2011. CCNU has been actively promoting exchanges and cooperation with Carleton University. So far, five schools of CCNU have established partnership with relevant Carleton departments.
