CCNU President Offers Blueprint of “Digital Teaching”
Facing challenges of the digital age, Central China Normal University (CCNU) strives to promote teaching innovation.
During his interview with China Daily, Prof. Yang Zongkai, President of CCNU, stressed that teachers should adapt to the new reality of the digital era and transform from traditional knowledge-possessors and preachers to activity-organizers and guidance-providers.
Yang emphasized the important role CCNU played in education informatization as one of the founders of National Networked Consortium for Teacher Education, the initiator of Hubei Networked Consortium for Teacher Education, and the platform builder of Massive Online Open Courses (MOOC) for CCNU, Beijing Normal University and National Taiwan Normal University. In his description of the blueprint of future classrooms, Yang also introduced that CCNU aimed at training digital teachers individually and endeavored to build “cloud classrooms”.
